Hiram Jackway was born on July 12, 1815 in Palmyra, New York. The Jackways had a farm on Stafford Road, about a mile and a half north of the Joseph Smith Sr. family residence. He lived in a little wooden house on Main Street with his brother, Jesse, and sister, Abigail.[1] He never married. He died on April 5, 1885 in Palmyra and was buried in the Palmyra City Cemetery.
