George N. Williams (1797–1867)

George N. William served as the “clerk of the witnesses,” who claimed that Lucy, Hyrum, and Samuel had neglected public worship and sacrament in the Western Presbyterian Church. In 1828, he was on the committee of elders that suspended Gain Robinson from the Presbyterian Church for alcoholism. He was a storekeeper and an elder in the Western Presbyterian Church. He signed the “Testimony of 51 Neighbors” against the Prophet Joseph Smith.[1]
