David Stafford was born on September 11, 1803 in Palmyra. He married Lucinda Stafford in 1833. To their union were born five children.
David paid taxes on 20 acres in Lot 3 located immediately south of the Smith farm in Palmyra. His affidavit against Joseph Smith was printed in Mormonism Unvailed. David claimed that Joseph Smith got intoxicated.[1] David died on June 23, 1854 in West Union, Fayette County, Iowa. He was buried in the West Union Cemetery.
