Alfred Stafford, son of Jonathon Stafford and Phebe Manchester Orr, was born on April 15, 1815 in Madison County, New York. On November 3, 1833, he signed the “Testimony of Eleven Neighbors,” later printed in Mormonism Unvailed. Alfred resided on Stafford Road in Manchester.[1] He married Mary Permelia Mills on March 1, 1841. To their union were born six children.
In 1850, Alfred was residing with his wife and two children in Middlebury, Indiana.[2] In 1860, he was residing with his wife and five children in Wayne, Lafayette, Wisconsin.[3] In 1865, he was residing with his wife and five children in Farmington, New York.[4] In 1880, Alfred was living with his wife, three children, and one grandchild in Aurora, Ohio.[5]
By 1900, Alfred had moved his family to Bainbridge, Ohio.[6] He died on November 24, 1903 in Bainbridge. He was buried in the Restland Cemetery in Bainbridge.
